Book Character Parade
Children are encouraged to arrive at school as their favourite book character. There will be a parade in Siena Hall at 9:30 with the whole school to attend and parents are invited to attend as well. Children are expected to change into their uniform after the parade.
Weekly Focus
Due to the public holiday and the exciting events happening this week, including Well Being week, we won’t be following our usual schedule. For our literacy focus this week we will begin reading Dreamtime stories that are part of our history unit. We will engage with the oral traditions of Aboriginal peoples to recognise that the past is communicated through stories passed down from generation to generation. We will start with Dunbi the Owl, which is based on a story told by Daisy Utemorrah of the Worora tribe to Aboriginal children living in Derby, Western Australia. In Religion we will be reading the story of David and Goliath from the Hebrew Scriptures. We will be looking at why David is a hero and how we can be heroes like him.
