Class Promise
In order to guarantee your child and all the children in our classroom a positive learning environment, I believe that children need to learn the importance of accepting responsibility for their choices. All children are expected to follow classroom rules and procedures, and as part of an ongoing program, children will be taught about appropriate behaviours, responsibility and choices.
Our school uses a vision statement or ‘Class Promise’ as the basis for positive classroom behaviour choices.
At the beginning of each year, class teachers and students jointly decide on a promise or ‘Vision Statement’ that they can keep throughout the year. Students are regularly reminded of the promise they have made.

School Rules
Students role-play our rules during the first few weeks of the year so that they know what each rule looks, sounds and feels like. These role-plays are revisited throughout the year to reinforce expectations and to enhance student understanding of the rules.
This year we will be using a ‘Clip Chart’ to monitor our behaviour and classroom choices. Your child will have a clip that they will physically move up or down the chart, depending on their choices. Please keep in mind that your child may not move every single day. In order to move up, students must go above and beyond in their behaviour choices.

How the clip chart works:
I look forward to establishing the best possible learning environment for your child. With teamwork and cooperation among parents, teachers, and students we will have a terrific year! If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me.
